Terms of Service

Terms for using Opening Film, including payment and refund rules.

Last updated: 2026-10-14

This is an English translation. If it differs from the Korean version (이용약관), the Korean version prevails.

Article 1 (Purpose)

These terms set out the conditions and procedures for using Opening Film (openingfilm.com, the "Service") operated by (to be announced) (the "Company"), and the rights, obligations and responsibilities of the Company and users.

Article 2 (Definitions)

  1. User: a member who agrees to these terms and uses the Service
  2. Project: the unit of work in which a user enters photos and information to make a pre-ceremony video
  3. Preview: the watermarked video played free of charge in the browser before payment
  4. AI clip: a photo chosen by the user turned into a moving video (about 5 seconds) by AI
  5. Final video: the 1080p video file (MP4) produced after payment and delivered to the user
  6. Edit window: 30 days after the final video is delivered

Article 3 (Posting and changing the terms)

  1. The Company posts these terms on the Service.
  2. The Company may change these terms within the limits of applicable law and will announce changes on the Service at least 7 days before they apply (30 days for changes unfavorable to users).
  3. Users who do not agree to the changed terms may delete their account.

Article 4 (The Service)

The Company provides:

  1. Photo upload, information entry and in-browser preview
  2. AI clips from photos chosen by the user (up to 8)
  3. Production of a 1080p final video and download
  4. Re-rendering after changes to text, photos or order during the edit window

Article 5 (Sign-up and account deletion)

  1. Users can sign up with Kakao or email. Children under 14 cannot sign up.
  2. Users may request account deletion at any time through customer support, and the Company will process it without delay.

Article 6 (Content uploaded by users)

  1. Users warrant that:
    • they have the right to use the photos they upload;
    • other people shown in the photos have agreed to their use in the video;
    • the photos and text do not infringe others' rights or violate the law.
  2. Rights to uploaded photos and entered text remain with the user. The user permits the Company to use them (copy, convert, store, transmit, etc.) only as needed to produce and deliver the video.
  3. The Company does not use users' photos or videos for other purposes such as promotion, unless the user separately agrees.
  4. Users are responsible for disputes and damages arising from a breach of paragraph 1.

Article 7 (Prohibited conduct)

Users must not:

  1. upload other people's photos without permission;
  2. upload obscene, violent or otherwise unlawful content;
  3. interfere with the normal operation of the Service (abnormal bulk uploads, attacks on the system, etc.);
  4. use another person's account.

If the Company confirms a violation, it may delete the content or restrict use of the Service.

Article 8 (Nature of AI clips)

  1. AI clips are generated from photos to create natural motion, and the result may differ slightly from the photo.
  2. Blurry photos, or photos with small faces or many people, may produce unnatural results. The upload screen explains this.
  3. The Company reviews AI clips and, if quality falls short (for example, a face changes noticeably), regenerates the clip or replaces the scene with the still photo.
  4. Text such as names and dates is never generated by AI; it is added in designed type.

Article 9 (Fees and payment)

  1. The fee is the amount shown on the Service (VAT included); one payment provides one final video.
  2. The preview is free, and users can review it fully before paying.
  3. Payments are made through the payment provider designated by the Company.

Article 10 (Withdrawal and refunds)

  1. Before production starts: Until AI clip generation or final-video production starts after payment, the user may withdraw within 7 days of payment and receive a full refund.
  2. After production starts: The Service is digital content produced individually from the user's photos and information. The Company provides a free preview before payment and, on the payment screen, informs the user that withdrawal is limited once production starts and obtains the user's agreement. Therefore, once production has started, withdrawal is limited under Article 17(2)(5) of the Act on the Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce.
  3. Refunds for reasons on the Company's side: If the Company cannot provide the final video for reasons on its side, such as a production failure, it refunds the full amount regardless of whether production started.
  4. AI conversion failure for some scenes: If AI conversion fails for some photos, the Company replaces those scenes with the still photos and still delivers the final video; this is not grounds for a refund.
  5. Refunds are made to the original payment method. The Company requests the refund from the payment provider within 3 business days of approving it; the actual timing depends on the card issuer.
  6. Refund requests can be sent to customer support ((to be announced)).

Article 11 (Delivery and edits)

  1. When the final video is ready, the Company makes it available for playback and download on the Service and notifies the email the user entered.
  2. During the edit window (30 days after delivery), the user may change text, still photos and photo order and re-render free of charge. Changes requiring new AI clips may be subject to a limit set by the Company or an additional fee.
  3. The final video may be used for screening at the user's wedding and for personal keeping and sharing. The template design and music in the video may be used only within this scope and may not be sold separately or used commercially.

Article 12 (Storage and deletion)

  1. Photos, AI clips and the final video are deleted when the edit window ends. Users must download and keep the final video within the edit window.
  2. Photos in unpaid projects are deleted 90 days after the last edit.
  3. Further details on personal information are set out in the Privacy Policy.

Article 13 (Suspension of the Service)

The Company may temporarily suspend the Service for maintenance, failures, natural disasters or other unavoidable reasons, and will announce it in advance where possible.

Article 14 (Limitation of liability)

  1. The Company is not liable for damages caused without its intent or negligence, such as natural disasters or reasons attributable to the user.
  2. The Company is not liable if the final video does not play because of the venue's equipment or environment. Users should check playback at the venue before the ceremony.
  3. Except in cases of intent or gross negligence, the Company's liability for damages is limited to the amount the user paid for the Service.

Article 15 (Disputes)

  1. These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea.
  2. Disputes relating to the Service are resolved in the court with jurisdiction under the Civil Procedure Act.
